Cai Lon Project
Cai Lon sluice gate, another key part of Cai Lon - Cai Be irrigation system, is positioned 2.1 km away from Cai Lon bridge towards Hau river. The structure consists of 11 gates, including 8 with 40m x 9m apertures and weighing 203 tons each, 2 with 40m x 7.5m apertures and weighing 188 tons, and 1 with 40m x 6m aperture and weighing 155 tons.
The primary objective of this project is to effectively manage water resources (salinity, brackishness, and freshness) to create favorable conditions that encourage stable and sustainable production models based on diverse ecosystems (fresh, salty-brackish, and fresh-brackish alternately). This will benefit an area of 384,000 hectares, with over 346,000 hectares dedicated to agricultural and fishery production land.
